How quick do Admins get promoted? I have a "management option" field which is Admin type work. Im just curious as to how it promotes. I hear jobs promote quicker than others. Thank you in advance.
Let see, I was a Lance for over 2 years, then a Cpl for just over a year, I've been a Sgt since December of 04 (I think) and I'll be getting promoted to SSgt this March or April.
I would say one of the biggest factors (other than PFT, Rifle score ect) is your unit. Admin traditionally has some pretty inflated Pro/Con marks. So if you get stuck with a unit that wont inflate Pro/Cons it will take a long time to get promoted because you wont be competitive with your admin peers even though you're not any less of a quality Marine than them.
When I was with my first unit I would see Marines in the comm shop join the unit as PFC's when I was a LCpl, then get promoted to LCpl and Cpl, all while I was a LCpl. It was very frustrating since we would have equal pro/cons.
