Looks much like the terrain here in Northeast Nevada. The crater that is pictured looks like the gold mine down the highway.

I wonder just how close the camera gets to obtain this level of detail of Mars' surface?

The lens is incredible.:usmc:

Thanks Ken for the props. I like science a lot

I never would have guessed! I've been facinated by science too, all of my life. I started with amazing stories, when I was twelve. I had to hide the books, because my stepdad said they were trash, and if he caught me with them, I'd get my butt Kicked. When I had to move out of our old house, into this one, there wasn't room for my collection of science fiction. I had about 2000 books, and I had read every one of them, some of the best, I read over and over, till they fell a part. I gave them to a used book store. I never could see destroying a book. You can learn, even from bad books, if you keep an open mind. :nerd: S/F!!! Ken

My Mom and Dad would give me a few bucks to buy books. It would keep me out of trouble. They figured that once I got them, then I would have to read them.

Reading them would take time and I would have to stay inside to do it. They (parents) were schemers:D

First Question, Do you mind if I call you Mike? In direct conversation, I feel awkward, calling you Jetdawgg. Now, to the subject, I thought all parents were schemers. They were always trying to put something over on us. Usually something pleasant, I'll give them that. If you've got kids, you learn how to scheme, and be sneaky.:devious: Mine bought me comic books, but no SciFi. "That trash will warp your mind!" or words to that effect.Do you suppose they could have been right? Oh well, too late to worry about it now. I really do like the the things you post Mike. Hell, I'm getting to be a fan! :D S?F!!! Ken

@kenrobg30

I think that they have this place for Marine Parents that they sent ours to.:D

They teach them all kind of things to make their sons and daughters Marines. Our parents just won't tell us where the location is (still scheming).

As long as I did not bring home "Playboy" and such, they did not mind what I read. When I told them that 'Playboy' had good stories, they had this belt thing ready for me:D

Those pictures are fascinating and I would very much like to see Mars for myself up close

If they had a one way mission to Mars with no return trip, knowing you can physically land on Mars, but no guarantee how long you would live on the surface with the provisions you have, would you volunteer for the flight?

At my age? Where's my suitcase? At least I;d get mky curiosity settled, if I lived through the trip.Take all the little critters that crawl around inside us humans, turn them loose on Mars, with my unsanitary old carcass to sustain them, long enough for them to adapt? Hell, they might have to change the name of the planet to KenRobG30. How about that, Mike? :evilgrin:S/F!!! Ken
