Question(s) about Officer Selection Officer (OSO)

So I tried the search tool but the words "officer" and "selection" are very vague and I got nothing useful...

I know what an OSO does, but my question is, how long is this duty? I'm not entirely sure how officer billets work...is this kind of like the officer version of a recruiter, therefore on a 3 year rotation? How long until an officer in this billet would have to move on to something else?

You might try searching for "Captain Kay". He gave a really good answer to a wannabee in the 'Ask a Marine' forum not that long ago about becoming an officer, he sounds to me like he might be an OSO. He'd be able to help you out.
