You're infantry MOS isn't entirely set in stone yet. When you get to SOI you'll go about 4 weeks in and then they will give you a "wish list" of whether you want to be a machine gunner, Mortarmen, Assaultman, TOW Gunner, etc. If you are smart, and the instructors noticed you then you might get picked to be something other then an 0311. Don't worry, you're not going to find out one day that you're a cook.

o ok because i was in open contract first then i got uh, and when i say uh000-000-00 i was worried that i was still open contract.

so some people are uh000-000-00 untill there done with soi school?

i thought any one with a uh contract is uh0311?

You are "Infantry" coded until you get to SOI.

In SOI you will do 4 weeks of a Basic Infantry course. Then depending on your test grades in the first 4 weeks...and a wishlist you put in. You will be assigned to a class for a specific Infantry MOS (0311,0331,0341,0351,352). Unless you are a reservist or security forces.
