hi all, I read the rules but still hoping that there may be a recruiter or someone that can shoot me a number of one that i can contact...

I have enlisted before so i am in a somewhat gray area. I enlisted in may 2000, went to boot at MCRD san diego. I unfortunately got a discharge for stress fractures at the end of july (uncharacterized disharge due to stress fractures with a re enlistment code of re-3f even though it wasnt a fraud enlistment). Since my discharge I have pretty much hated myself on a daily basis for not returning after a few months of healing and turning into a nasty civilian again. I've made some stupid decisions based on others (girlfriends) and may have waited too long.

Since then I have been back to school for a bit, gotten a few good jobs (only to be laid off) and still cant shake the hatred of not earning the title. I began talking to a recruiter last year about a month or so before my 29th birthday. I had to drop 20 pounds before he would even take me seriously (i am 6'3 and weighed 250 and needed to be 230) so i asked him if i had time to do so because of my age. well long story not so short, after i lost the weight i was 2 days past my 29th birthday. And once he started doing the paperwork he realized that i was past the age limit (by 2 days) he said there wasnt anything he could do for me because i didnt graduate boot camp. What I am wondering is if there are any recruiters on here that would be able to help me out? At this point I know i would have to go reserves, but none of that matters to me. I just want to be a Marine. I will do ANYTHING it takes! but unfortunately, i think that may end up being something that I will have to live the rest of my life with. Seems like everytime I turn the TV on I keep seeing things about "older" marines that have gotten an age waiver.

Please, any recruiters or someone that has some recruiter friends, please PM me. Thanks in advance to anyone that can point me in the right direction!

yes sgt, there is. He is the one i talked to and it seemed like there wasnt much he could do. But i have a couple friends that are Marines, and told me to check with other recruiters to see if there was a loophole or something he isnt seeing. they both know of several guys they went to boot with that were well into their 30's. Im just praying there is someway i can get back in! Thanks for the reply Marine!
