I'm sitting here right now in 29 Palms enjoying an Ice Cold Ale and I wanted to say:

OOH-RAH! SEMPER FI!

I have spoken with several Marines here and I know a number recently returned from a deployment in Afghanistan. Fantastic work Marines! You are appreciated very, very much! Thanks for your service, you all are the Best that we Marines can strive to be! Best wishes and Merry Christmas! :marine:

I just got out of 29 palms last week. Now stationed at Camp Pendleton. The freezing rain today was horrible haha

Cool, cool. I'm a 0651, Data Systems Specialist. I do work with wireman though. Doesn't seem to be too bad.

I'm set to sign on with a reserve unit on Thursday. Something tells me I will be seeing Mojave Viper sooner or later. Get some!

How time flys, I was with Comm School when it moved there from MCRD SD, Feb, 1970. Love the desert.

Went to the stumps twice for CAX's, both in the winter. Hated that place.

I enjoyed my 17 months 66-68 @ 29 stumps training, and then went to Vietnam. My favorite duty station after I got acclimated to the desert.

I did a double CAX in 07 cause I was the only one who could take section leader for the C section, sucked balls and I don't care to go back ever again. On a side not I did get **** ass drunk at the blowling alley and **** on the side of Taco Bell while I was there . Lots of late drunk nights on mainside breaking up fights and getting in trouble.

Oh and did I mention I caught 2 people in a Ford Mustang shagging out by the air strip while I was driving a HMMWV around? lol

I want you to go find me these 29 Palms, you all keep talking about. I was there and did not see any 29 Palms. This has been a debabt for years the Stumps or 29 Palms. The story has it they died off years ago.

29 Palms was the best duty I had in the Corps. You take Marines Like Sgt. Thrasher on Your gun section makes it the best of the best.

I liked the stumps, except for the first 2 days when I felt I could barely breath that dry air.
They still have the beer tents behind the A-frames or are the A-frames even still there?

Was in the Stumps in 1961-62 with 7th Engineers. I really liked it there and enjoyed going on liberty from there. We blew up a lot of rocks while I was there.

I did a lot of rock collecting at the stumps and a few scorpions in-casement. LOL
