Hey everyone im new to the forum. I have a couple of questions if youve got answers. Im meeting with a recruiter tomorrow to go over things, but as of right now im 100% sure i want to be a Marine. Im about 10 pounds overweight so i know im going to have to get a DEP, but that's fine for me ill work it off. Anyways i wanted to ask any Marine, former Marine, once i hit my target wait and the recruiter thinks im ready, how long does it take to ship my ass straight to boot camp. Lets just say i grew up with the bad kids, but finished high school, and im looking to get the hell out of here. I know the Marines is the branch for me, im looking into combat MP or artillery.

SO basically to sum up my rambaling. How long does it take from the time you sign into 4 years, to get shipped to boot camp and get things rolling.
And any combat mp, Whats it like?

The Recruiter may or may not tell you to come back when you lose those 10 pounds. You'll also need to take the ASVAB test...........
