Im 18 and interested in joining the Marines, but when i was 6 i was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre. Which long story short made me paralyzed from the waist down. I was in the hospital for 2 days before being checked out, then i spent a month or two in rehab basically getting my strength back. I told my recruiter about it and I got all my medical history and gave it to him. He sent a paper to MEPS that stated that i fully recovered and that i was fine. The only thing is i cant get flu shots or it COULD come back, chances are low theres still a chance. I'm very active and in pretty good shape. I played basketball and football throughout high school. Meps told me that i was disqualified. They wont even let me take a physical. MY recruiter told me to have my doctor call and talk to the docs down at MEPS but when he called no one answered and he told me they most likely wont even call him back. I read somewhere online to talk to my congressman and i called there gonna try to help (not sure what it will even do). Is there ANYTHING else i can do? I heard of a buboard? I dont think im spelling that right but another recrutier told me to do that. But if any of you Marines could let me know what else i can do i would appreciate it alot.
Also thank you to everyone of you Marines for serving our country.
