:mad:....I haven't had a bad flashback for about a year. Over the past 8 days, I've had three. All were in the evening, or around rack-time. It seems that my memories of the fall of 1969, are overwhelming my little peanut brain.
I can SMELL it, I can HEAR it, and I can FEEL it!! I just am overcome with fear, anger, and grief.
It's dark, raining, and our Platoon is being ambushed near Con Thien. SO MUCH NOISE!!....I'm almost deaf...weapons firing, grenades exploding...our men screaming for help....the SSGT, yelling out orders...I'm trying to care for 3 wounded Marine buddy's.....all my bandages are wet...the dam tape won't hold...have to tear up uniforms, for bandage ties...one of the Grunts wounded, helps me to drag two of the wounded out of the line of fire.....just as I look up, to tell him something.....a round, or piece of shrapnel....blows half of his head off.
This is the point that I SUDDENLY come back!!....that's just ONE of the flashbacks!!....any of you willing to watch my back???............a VERY long week.....Doc Greek

Got your back I will member you in my prayers. I wish they was something they could do for the Flashbacks that you MAN are having now.May the LOAD help you MAN.

Got your back Doc, fall is a rough time for me as well. So I don't know of how much I can help but I'll be here anytime you need. I get really bad starting in September - December. Its always on my mind but the flashbacks get really bad during these times. Semper FI brother!

You or your buddies sure had mine in early 69 in a Navy feld hospital in Danang.

Doc,

We All got your back. I know its a sh*t detail, those flashbacks,(my dad has them) but we all ALL here. What happened, happened, you have honored the Marine Corps and Navy and all our traditions with your faithful serivice. You served a Necessity that few are capable of serving. You carry the scars, but they only there to remind-not to defeat. Our Souls may Falter, but They rise and Prevail!

Doc,

I like to shoot although I don't shoot as much as I did years ago. Burning through boxes of rounds was good therapy. I also like shooting clays. Good for concentration and frustration. Just can't see as well as I once did.:thumbup:

and the Corps in a car wreck in Dallas years ago.
Was a mess for a while. It got better after I started thinking of what
Sgt. James McGlocklin would have said to me.
Stay hard and carry on. So I did.
I still miss him every day though and it has been a long time.
He died in 91.

Doc my Brother I've got it, with all these many others. I am here anytime you care to call me. I'll message you my phone number. I stay up at night until sun up and take several naps during the day. That has cut my remembering the things down considerably.(most every 46 Combat Mission as CC, and rocket attacks). Some can do it, and others can not. Try it only if you can. We have about the same meds. If you would call, like I've said, we will talk as long as you care to talk. As long as we are alive, we will be in this together. Mine comes and goes as yours does. The stress we went through will be there till the day our Lord God comes after us. We have to help each other, as we depended on each other then. Keep those turns up. Semper Fi, and Ready-App.
