Hello, Marines. My cousin is shipping out on Monday to MCRDSD with Lima company, if I remember correctly. Does the company you're in determine anything after boot camp, such as where he will be stationed or with a certain company in SOI?

Where you go to boot camp or what company you are in while at boot camp has absolutely no bearing on what happens to you after you graduate.

It just lets you brag that you were in "X" company.
Nobody brags about what CO they were in. It's battalions and depots that matter.

I thought Lima was 3rd? How did Lima become 4th and Mike is 3rd? Aren't they supposed to be in alphabetical order?

I don't know if you're joking or not, but my nephew was in Lima Co, 3rd BN....not 4th BN.

1st BN- A, B, C, D
2nd BN- E, F, G, H
3rd BN- I, K, L, M (There is no juliet co.)
i think 4th BN is N, O, P.
Just typing out a response I caught my mistake. Lima would be 3rd battalion as there are 4 companys in each battalion in alphabetical order.
In the fleet there is always an open alpha numeric. There is no delta company in 1st battalion, there is no hotel company in second battalion etc.

Thats awsome Lima Co is picking up again. i was the last Lima Co. 3024. We Graduated April 10th. Tell him good luck. Let us know who his DI's are. By the way he is getting put in the BEST Battalion and BEST Co. LOL
