This is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe...ize/index.html (http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/10/09/nobel.peace.prize/index.html)

I am still failing to see WHY he actually has won it....

This is a slap in the face of people that may have spent thier entire adult life trying to achieve something worthy of this honor. I guess it only takes "good intentions" these days. I think i will throw my name in the hat next year!<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Your not the only one I still can't understand how after only what 9 days or 9 weeks or 9 months it doesn't add up. We've had people who have work there hole lives to better human life, and have strive to better man kind in every way they can. If this was the case every Senator , Congressman and President should be awarded the prize and every Pope and King and Queen too. This just a Joke and it should be expose as one.

I was watching the news in the chow hall at Camp Geiger when this story came out and let me tell you, EVERY Marine in there was SHOCKED. He has done absolutely NOTHING. He hasn't lived up to a single promise and after just 9 months, giving it to him because of his "visions of piece and his hope for change" is absurd and an insult to everyone who has received the award in the past (except Gore...he was just as big a joke!).

This is why the Nobel Prize is known but receipents rarely are.

They also awarded it to Arafat and Gore, the prize has lost a lot of its luster.:(

We've had people who have work there hole lives to better human life, and have strive to better man kind in every way they can.

Bill, There were 205 nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize. And they all likely actually did something for humanity to deserve their nomination.

Here's an example of someone who has actually done something and who deserves it far more than Obama:

Denis Mukwege, Medical doctor

http://beta.images.theglobeandmail.com/archive/00263/mukwege_263627gm-e.jpg

Dr. Denis Mukwege jokes with patients outside the surgical ward of Panzi hospital in Bukavu, DRC. On this photo's date, Dr Mukwege had treated 21,000 women suffering from devastating gynecological injuries as a result of rape in Congo's brutal war. He is the only gynecologist treating these wounds in the country. Oct. 14, 2008

Seeing pregnant women arrive at the hospital on a donkey and dying during childbirth encouraged Mukwege to study gynaecology and obstetrics. Noticing that so many women had been sexually abused, he later founded the Panzi hospital (http://www.panzihospitalbukavu.org/) in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Hundreds of thousands of female sexual violence victims have been helped so far.

Great post Sgt!! Yet, we gave it to a man who has served less time in office than his opponent spent serving his country as a POW. And a man who hasn't don't anything to better the country or the world yet except talk, talk, talk. I've given and still am giving him a chance since he's my Commander in Chief but this prize is absurd and angers me deeply. I'm glad that I'm not alone!
