I was wondering if the diversion program shows up on your record? The MOS i am trying to get requires you to have a clean record. I went through the diversion program back when i was 16 for underage...

Ya sorry about that. I was going to do that but i figured i would have gotten yelled at for asking another question in that thread, but ill make sure i remember this next time sorry for double posting.

I'm assuming that by needing a clean record you mean you're going for top secret?

If so, you don't necessarily need a clean record, just not so bad of a record. In any case, if you're unsure, mention it, mention it, mention it. Either you can explain your circumstances to the investigator and improve your chances, or you can try to hide it, they will find it, notice the discrepancy between your report and theirs and deny you your clearance outright. Mind you, this will happen in the middle of school or perhaps when you're already out in the fleet which will require you to get reclassed, then you'll have even less say in what MOS you get and probably end up as an embarkation/logistics specialist (my school has a high-washout rate and it seems that everyone and their mother is going to Camp Johnson for that school).

Yes, that is correct, right now i am on open contract waiting to find out if i actually got Marine Corps Security Forces Presidential or not its not a for sure thing yet but that is the MOS that i told my recruiter i wanted and he said that he will try to get it for me.

you can get contracted to Presidential duty now?.....as far as I knew Pres. security and such were all B-billets

I would suggest just being up front about it, the Yankee White security clearance checks back with personal friends, teachers, school, etc....if you didnt disclose it and it comes up from someone else this would be veiwed as an integrity violation and that would be a major set back
