Hi,
I met this Marine when I was serving as 1st Lt. in Finnish Defence Forces school called RUK (pronounced as R-U-Gay..:marine:, and I am not ****ting you)., in Hamina, Finland.
Anyway, this was 1999-2002 and he was out of USMC, reason because he had acquired adult diabetes, several years ago. He somehow after that had acquired Finnish girlfiend and he had taste for English football (soccer for you "murricans") He used to booze with us in local bars.
I could Google this, but I think you guys will come up with definitive answer. I have totally forgotten his name now (<-booze), but he said he had been Recon Marine and mentioned his unit. Once he said that their motto was "Swift, Silent, Deadly". Funnily, I had just read Philip Caputo's book, where he calls the unit "Slow, Noisy and Harmless" (which information I did convey to him...but he did take it like a Marine...:marine:)
Anyway, I have this Army problem of not being able to cut through BS, but:
Which Recon Marine Unit in 90's had that motto?
Does that sort of guy ring a bell with anyone? Because I have completely forgotten his name and unit (<-booze)
