Scrambled F-15s scare NJ residents

HILLSBOROUGH, N.J. — Houses shook and dogs barked in central New Jersey as two F-15 fighter jets chased after a plane that had wandered into restricted airspace.
Maj. Mike Humphreys with the North American Aerospace Defense Command in Colorado says the aircraft had taken off from Central Jersey Airport in Hillsborough Monday afternoon and returned before the jets reached it.
Humphreys says the pilot was met by airport personnel. No name has been released.
The temporary flight restriction coincided with President Barack Obama’s visit to New York City. The Federal Aviation Administration says it will remain in effect through Thursday.
Residents in Edison, South River, East Brunswick and Piscataway reported seeing and hearing the military jets.
