My Brother just did that last weekend in S.C.. If you were there you most likely ran ,biked or swam around him. He's 50 but he finished. His best time in the NYC Marathon is under 4 hours. If he was A Marine he would kick ass. Better shape than me.

The Marine Corps is so ****ing stupid sometimes. We have an accountability formation at 6pm on Sunday for no reason at all other than our 1stSgt wants to dick around with our company... i'm racing in the Duke Half-Ironman Triathlon at 9am that same day. No way i'll be able to race in it which will take about 9 hours and then drive back 2 and a half hours to base. My chain of command told me to get ****ed, they could care less if I already paid the $350 entry fee and have raised almost $1,000 in charity money for the Duke Liver Cancer Research Center for this race and by me racing in it will do nothing but portray the Marine Corps in a positive light...

Retarded.

Bro that sucks! You should send an invite to your CO stating you are representing the Marines and see what happens...

Just talked to a guy a day ago that ran the Ironman in Hawaii, he was in his 40's!!!!

Chill, chill.

Maybe you went about it wrong.

Maybe a bit more notice would have helped.

Maybe the EGA on your outfit.

Gently speak civily to the 1stSgt. No temper loss.

Remember, you just re-upped and got a stripe coming and you could be in some deep doo-doo for a couple of years.

so it's accountability, if you check in on your way TO the race you are accounted for right? or is this some super accountability thing?

let us know what happens.
