Hello all,

I work in health care and fitness and recently finished a writing a book and training program for stress reduction. It is designed for the military and those experiencing severe symptoms of stress and is based on my having worked with people that have GAD, PD and PTSD.

Anyway, it's available free of charge to all Marines. If you're an active member of the military or a veteran, please PM me with your contact information and I will send you the book in PDF attachments.

Since I respect the forum policy of spam, I have not included any link to my website.

Thank you.

Not ever Marine can work out these days I know I can't therefore, your target should be the new Vets of today not us old dudes.

Example:

I walk with a gate, and leg pain but I push on.

I ware a full stomach wire mesh inside my stomach, no sit ups for me.

I forget where my mouth is, often spilling my coffee down the front of my shirt, and I misplace my days just as much.

I visit my grave sight often, its empty right now.

My days of being a buff former Marine are over.

Thank you Cliff for reaching out to us.
Exercise will not help me with my PTSD.
31 years of Therapy and Meds and Noone mentioned exercise.
Something to think about though.
I'll ask my physcotherapist at the VA Hospital next week.

Hi Riven,

It's not a workout program and is actually low intensity. In designing the program, I realized that vigorous exercise can often trigger anxiety and panic attacks with people who have GAD, PD or PTSD. I also work with elderly people that aren't in the best of health.

Basically, it's a gentle program that links breath with movement (dynamic pose flows) and incorporates pressure points and reflexology, in order to
trigger the relaxation response. It's also adaptive, since it takes into account that people that have stress and anxiety issues might not be able to do the entire 30 minute program regularly, given that there are "good and bad" days.

I designed it for military personnel in the field and those returning from conflict areas. By no means is it a cure all and some people might not derive any benefit from it, but I know others will. I think people will get out of it, what they put in.

I would be happy to teach this system to anyone in the military with an open mind.

Finally, based on what you describe about your physical condition, I would say there are some elements of the program that you would not be able to do - and other elements that you would.

Hope that explains it a bit.

Best
Cliff
