Semper Fi everyone!
I have been thinking about re-enlisting into the reserves and was wondering about the process I would go through. Also, there are no reserve recon units in the area i will be living. It is only POG units which i have no interest in joining. Would i still be able to be with recon? How hard is BRC? I have a swim 2 qualification and my last pft i ran a 283. I have 2 deployments, a security clearance and combat experience in the infantry. Any info would help. Thanks.

I've known a couple of Marines who flew to their reserve units. I've contemplated flying down from Washington to SoCal and am full well allowed to. It sucks because pog units are everywhere. Grunt units are located in only a few places.

You only have to find an affordable airline or else your whole check will be paying for transportation.

The rest I know nothing about.

haha that's funny cuz i was planning on living in Washington state. The closest recon units are in Cali and i think Arizona. Hell, if I could not be recon I would at least want to stay infantry, but you guys don't even have that......

Nope.

I wanted (may still want to, trying to figure things out in my life right now) got back to 4th LAR out of Pendleton. The only other units close to me are in San Francisco and Colorado.

What part of WA?

Ahh,

Large military population just north in Everette and Marysville. I live about 100 miles north on the Canadian border.

Good, I was worried about a large amount of hippie liberals giving me hell in the area haha

Well, If you live in Seattle be prepared for that. And strange rules like surcharges on plastic bags and the banning of mayonnaise.

Good luck to you. And if you have any questions about Seattle...

You're in the wrong part of the forum wannabe.
Open Squad Bay is for Marines only!
Your question needs to be asked in the Ask A Marine forum.

To bad your not close to Utah. There is a LAR unit, and Infantry unit in Salt Lake. Then there is an Anti Terrorism unit in Reno NV, and a Weopons Plt. and Bulk Fuel unit in Las Vegas NV. I want to go back infantry of some sort so I'm lucky there I guess.
