Recruit dies during training at Parris Island

PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. — A Marine recruit has died after a training exercise at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island.
Corps officials said Friday they are investigating the death of Adrien E. Augustin, 20, of Kenton, Ky. He collapsed Monday after finishing a physical fitness test and was pronounced dead at a Beaufort hospital.
2nd Lt. Sharon Hyland says an autopsy has been performed to determine the cause of his death, but the results are not back yet.
