I did a seacrh for my Senior Drill Instructor and came up with 2 men with his name. The first I ignored because he is younger than I, the second I emailed because he is roughly 10 years older than I am. Plus the picture of him on-line is a dead ringer even after 34 years. I wanted to thank him and that even after all these years I still apply what he taught me in everyday life. I received a reply acknowledging he is indeed my SDI. My platoon (399 Sept-Dec 75 PISC) was his first as a Senior DI, and he remembers the platoon, but had to pull out the platoon book to see my face to really remember. He retired in 1986 and went on to law school and is now an attorney in West Virginia. Ya gotta love the internet without it we might never find people that you just wonder about for years. :marine:

Thats awesome. I've been looking for 2 of my DI's but with names like Reed and Thompson I get thousands of potentials. :(

Good luck to you Ameriken. I was lucky that my SDI has a good Polish name. If you keep searching you will find them. It takes persistance and luck. Semper Fi.

Thanks Mac. I do need some of that luck. It'd really be great to find any of them.

His name at the time was SSgt Michael Kozakiwich. I might have misspelled that, sorry.
