when should i take my son off my insurance at work? i recieved a letter from my insurance co. i need to change his insurance since he his no longer in school. since he is at boot camp,should i keep him on until he graduates? since he's not a Marine yet!

Since he is in, he's covered under TriCare.

Good question. I'd inquire with the benefits administrator at work to see if his entering Active Duty or coming off Active Duty would be a qualifying factor for a change in benefits; ie, removing or adding him to your plan.

If you can take him on and off at will because of that then I'd say you could drop him for now. If for some reason he doesn't make it through, comes back and goes to school (forgive me, I don't know how old he is but most insurance carriers cap the age at 23 for college bound children still on the plan) then you should be able to enroll him again.

Otherwise, plan for success.
