Our class advisor, a Sgt, has told us that those who went to boot in January would pick up LCpl Sept 1st (contract PFCs). I went January 5th, and two others went like January 12th or something.
Would it be correct to assume that we will pin on LCpl September 1st?
I went to Boot Camp Jan 28th and picked up LCpl Oct 1.
So since I went through mostly all of January, is it safe to assume Sept 1st? Sorry, I'm just so new to this and don't want to make any mistakes.
I THINK you have to have 9 months TIG to pick up LCpl. So, if they count Jan as one of the months that would put you at Oct 1. If they don't count Jan as one of the months that would put you at Nov 1.
But I think you'll pick up Oct 1, simply because you and I both went in the same month and I'm certain I picked up Oct 1.
If I was at work I could look you up and tell you for sure, but I'm on leave for a couple weeks so I can't give you a definite answer.
Well, I just found out MOL won't show it until 2 weeks or less before it happens, so I have to wait until the middle of August.
I think MOL already has a list of every getting promoted in Sept. Check it now.

Where is this list in MOL? (when it becomes available)
When you log on go to
personal info> rank/mos> type in your MOS number> select your rank in the drop box> click "go"
It's going to have a list of everyone in your MOS in the rank selected. You can arrange the list so it shows who's getting promoted by clicking "Select grade" on the far right column.
If you haven't graduated school yet you may have to put 0600 as your MOS.
It still shows most of us as 8011.. I know where my name is, and it shows the FROC I'm in, but nothing yet for select grade. When will I know it's been updated?
When it's updated you'll start seeing "E3" in the select grade list when you adjust it. It'll be updated the day after U&E. Do a google search to see when U&E is for August...my guess would be some time around the 20th.

I went to boot in July 21st, and I picked up Lance in April. So I would assume you will pick it up in October as the Cpl said.
