I've PM'ed a couple people on the site here about my issues, but the more info the better....
In 2000 my right eye was punctured by a sharpened cleaning Q-Tip at the cleaning tables on Camp Hansen and it required surgery to be repaired. I'm left with reduced vision in my dominant eye, around 20/40 - 20/60, but no other ill effects. I know that is within limits, but still makes me nervous because we all know how prick-ish MEPS docs can be.
2nd I had surgery on my right shoulder on May 18, 2009. S.L.A.P. tear of the labrum (the cartilage that sorta holds your shoulder in socket). I had successful arthroscopic repair surgery and am in the process of going through physical therapy and collecting documentation to submit for BUMED.
This shoulder issue is old but not "officially" documented anywhere because it happened on leave in 2000 and I never did ANYTHING about it. The shoulder was totally dislocated. There is a minor sick call note in my SRB about it, but nothing was diagnosed until May of this year when I re-injured it. I've been to 2 different physical therapists so far and 2 different orthopedic specialists to thoroughly document my recovery.
2 users from this site that helped me a great deal on the shoulder issue were USMCMason and CapitalM. They both had the same procedure and USMCMason successfully enlisted after 2 of these surgeries.

hi, i left for boot in 06 and during the course i had achillies issues (which are fine) but while i was away 2 close family (not immediate) passed. also had what they classified as an anxiety or panic attack. which i feel only came about from sitting in mrp and hearing the news about family members. that was the first and last panic attack i have had. i was sent to mhu to see why it was brought about and after telling them what happened i was given a re-3p (personality disorder) ???? at the time they asked if i wanted to stay i stated that i wanted to be a marine but family was more important at the time. how could i get this resolved recruiters have told me that i have to see a civilian doc others have told me the VA local vet station could have me see a doc at meps. what should i do?
