I just checked my navy fed account and it says pending payment of 1117. Pretty happy considering thats like 400 more than I usually get. I checked my mypay for June and it says I'm getting 317 BAH w/o dependents. This happened to me once before, I had recruiters assistance after boot leave, went to MCT and found out I had a 1054 dollar deposit dropped in. Again, for bah w/o dependents. Is this usual for leave? This is only my second time being on leave. 22 days. Is it because the govt assumes since you're not in govt quarters that you'll be spending money to live somewhere? I didn't think Uncle Sam was that nice...

Could be Comrats pay. You'll get it if on RA.
Either way don't touch it until you have talked with your 1stSgt.
If there was an overpayment the DoD will get their money back one way or another.

"they" always get theirs....

I've been gettings 300 for BAS, and 92 of that comes out for the chow hall, but they've always left me with the rest, which I'm cool with. And I stop paying for that damn GI bill next month.

You get BAH and Comrats when you're on leave, that's why they (should) take your meal card away.

you need to call your command now to get them working on figuring out what's going on... even if it's what you should be getting.

I always received partial BAH and comrats for leave. At the time, I got something like $21 a day.

Petz

it's dependant on where you are taking leave alisium... per diem is location specific

You sure its not Uniform allowance?

Petz
06-26-09, 09:56 AM
well... it can be... I'm not saying it's not, but that uniform amount is like 12.50 a day... that's the cost of chow hall food 3 times a day. that's why they take your chow hall card... so they can give you your pro-rated comrats back to you.

I think he's talking about the anniversary allowance. That 300 or so you get once a year.

I always took my leave in Oregon, when I was stationed in SoCal and once in FLA so I speak to location. But, I am almost positive that Marines get some kind of extra money when they get back.

Which is also partially why you can cash out on leave at your EAS instead of taking terminal.

so you think it's his clothing allowance?

you don't get it until your second year in... then it's only half of the 500 odd then your third year is only half then when/if you re enlist your 4th is full ammount.

they assume your uniforms are jacked up your first year (haha yeah I know...) and then only partially so your next two years.

Wow that's changed.

I got my full amount my first year and every year thereafter. But it was only $300 at the time.

Silly Marine Corps changing schit.

My last two paychecks have been $1250 and this one coming up is scheduled for $1316.

Tax free leave, "Leave rations entitlement", Uniform allowance, and 2 year pay raise FOR THE WIN!

They didn't take a meal card away because there wasn't one to take, I haven't received one at my new command yet.

Don't spend that $400.00 until you get to your next command or get an updated LES (Or whatever they call it now) no pay can be a biatch.

If your not sure put it in the bank and draw the petty interest.

You shouldn't be getting BAH w/o for going on leave. Someone, somewhere is ****ing something up.

Half is paid the first year because most Marines would have only spent appx 6 months in the fleet their entire first year of service and before then uniforms are replaced for free, if they're serviceable.

CRA is 31.80 a month, and 382.00 a year. And Marines rate it on the very next payday after their PEBD, of every single year they're in.

It'll be interesting to see what your admin section says. Like the others said, I would bank it to offeset a NPD until you find out for sure.

But, I always got BAH for leave.

I wouldn't be surprised if they took away when I ask just to save the marine corps money, even if I am supposed to get it haha

You need to talk to someone about this.
Go through the chain, and make sure you have a copy of your LES from Mypay in your hand when you do.

"If there was an overpayment the DoD will get their money back one way or another."

Yeah, I wouldn't quite hit the casino or Gamestop with the extra money. The phrase "no pay dues" can make any Marine shake.

the part that matters....

2. Types of CRA. CRA is payable in two types, basic and
standard, based on the enlisted persons time on active duty.
Entitlements to the following CRAs are reported into the Marine
Corps Total Force System via unit diary entry for payment, per
reference (g):

a. Basic CRA (BCRA). BCRA is intended for enlisted Marines
(both Regular and Reserve on extended active duty) in their first
3 years of active duty and computes to approximately 70 percent
of Standard CRA (SCRA). BCRA accrues beginning with the first
day of the month following the completion of 6 months continuous active duty without regard to time lost, from the date of last
authorization to the Initial Issue. BCRA will continue to accrue
during the remainder of the first 3 years of continuous active
duty.

b. Standard CRA (SCRA). SCRA is intended for enlisted
Marines (both Regular and Reserve on extended active duty)
serving beyond 3 years of active duty. SCRA will accrue to
enlisted Marines beginning with the first day of the month
following the completion of 36 months of active duty without
regard to time lost, from the date of last authorization of the
Initial Issue. This allowance will continue during the remainder
of the period of continuous active duty.

this implies that junior Marines are not in need of the full clothing repair allowance because their uniforms are in a relatively new state.

so I will admit I was extremely vague on the differences of basic and standard CRA pay-outs. For that I appoligize, but I hope this helps to clarify what I intended to say.
