LA Times: Michael Jackson dead

June 25, 2009 - 6:21 PM
Staff reports

Michael Jackson died early this afternoon after being rushed to the hospital, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.

Doctors pronounced the pop idol dead after he arrived at the UCLA Medical Center.

Jackson was not breathing when paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m, Capt. Steve Ruda with the Los Angeles Fire Department told the Los Angeles Times Thursday. The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center.

L. Londell McMillan, a lawyer for Jackson, did not have any information. Messages left for other Jackson associates were not immediately returned, according to a report from the Associated Press.

The hospitalization was first reported by the Web site TMZ.

The emergency entrance at the UCLA Medical Center, which is near Jackson's rented home, was roped off Thursday with police tape, as news trucks gathered and helicopters flew overhead, the Associated Press reported.

I was listening to the radio on my way back from San Diego today and heard the news. Shep Smith said when they got Jacko to the hospital they tried to revive him by bringing a little boy in the room, but it was too late.

WTF? After I got done chewin' on her azz for interrupting my game for some pervert croaking, I had to listen all about it on every radio station on the air as I went home afterwards.

Farrah Fawcett arrived at the Pearly Gates, and was escorted to her appointment with God. God told Farrah she could have one wish for the earth in honor of her brave struggle and good life. Farrah then Prayed, “I wish for all the little children of the world to live in complete safety...”

And Michael Jackson dropped dead.
Michael Jackson died of food poisoning. He ate too many 12-year-old wieners.

The world today mourns the death of the “King of Pop.” He had prepared for this and in his last will and testimony, he stated that due to all of the plastic surgery he had over the years, that he wanted to be melted down and made into Legos so that he can play with little boys forever…

I would be absolutely outraged if they did this......
My father worked in the mines and so did my grandfather. I always hoped that some day before my father died, it was 4 years ago June 13th, that they would put out the "Miners Stamp" in "Honor" of all the men who risked their lives and died working in the mines.....but they never did.
They can put Disney characters on a stamp, NASCAR drivers on a stamp, Elvis on a stamp........and so on and so on, but they can't put Miners on a stamp.
Now kids want to people to sign a petition to have MJ put on a stamp....... Show me where they're at, I'll rip that damn piece of paper up.

I bought an 8 pack of budweiser tall boys , went home and put on the vinyl "Thriller" , played it about 6 times and rocked the ten acres. Then turned on xm radio and set it to alert me to all Michael Jackson songs and danced in the living room with the kids.
My kids dont have to know the bad parts. so Fruck you all.

My father also a Marine told me once he had no problem with fags because he was comfortable with himself and he was not threatened by them. That affected me profoundly.
I do know I was born a homophobe and just cant change it, but I cant stop my feet from getting busy when I hear good music.
May he rest in Peace. forgive but dont forget eh?

It's amazing how small minded some people can be. MJ was an amazing artist regardless of your opinions on his music. You may not like it, but you can't deny the hundreds of millions of people that did. He must have done something right. He also raised millions of dollars for many different charities. He may have made a few mistakes but he also did alot of good. i might add that the mistakes he allegedly made he was found NOT GUILTY on. innocent until proven guilty right ?

Also, this thread is about MJ, not homosexuals. If you must show your ignorance with your feelings of hate towards homosexuals then please do it elsewhere. I'm sure there are some hate group forums out there somewhere where you can share your opinions with other small minded people.

Nanny reveals tragic secret life of Jackson

Maurice Chittenden and John Harlow Los Angeles

THE nanny who became “mother” to Michael Jackson’s three children has told how she regularly had to pump his stomach to remove dangerous cocktails of drugs.

Grace Rwaramba, 42, who flew from London to Los Angeles yesterday in the hope of being reunited with his children, has given a graphic account of the singer’s increasingly desperate final months.

She paints a grim picture of Jackson, sometimes penniless but deluded about his “riches”, leading a nomadic life, moving from country to country and hotel to hotel, before allegedly falling under the increasing influence of the Nation of Islam, the extremist sect.

Jackson is believed to have been taking up to eight different drugs a day, including three narcotic painkillers. Rwaramba, who is expected to be interviewed by detectives about whether she helped administer the drugs, said: “I had to pump his stomach many times. He always mixed so much of it.

“There was one period that it was so bad that I didn’t let the children see him . . . He always ate too little and mixed too much.”

The nanny says she once called in the singer’s mother, Katherine, and sister, Janet, to attempt an “intervention”, trying to persuade the singer to come to terms with his addiction. Instead Jackson turned on her, accusing her of betraying him. “He didn’t want to listen; that was one of the times he let me go,” she said.

Rwaramba, who is from Rwanda, worked for Jackson for more than a decade, starting as an office assistant before becoming nanny to his children, Michael Jr, known as Prince, aged 12; Paris, 11; and Prince Michael II, 7, nicknamed Blanket to distinguish him from his brother.

Clearly you can't follow your own advice. How trite.

It's illogical (read "oxymoronic") to justify using bigoted, inflamatory remarks IN RESPONSE to someone else's supposed bigoted, inflamatory remark. Like that makes it ok...

Kinda like when you tell school grade children "Just because he pushed you doesn't mean you should push back".

Sooo, "like fvcking duh", I don't get it. The only thing I see is that you're worse than what you accused him of, because you CLAIM to be better, when in fact, you're absolutely not.

There's nothing "bigoted" about calling someone out on their offensive remarks when they are clearly in the wrong. That is unless, you agree with him. Remember, the point isn't that I disagree with someone's opinion. It's that I disagree with someone's opinion on issues that shouldn't be apart of our society anymore.

Clearly in the wrong? By whose standards? Who died and left you the almighty? Well, if my remarks offend you--too fvcking bad. I'm more offended that a Marine had accepted the demented and disgraceful views of today's society.

Some people are worried that his use of Demerol and other prescription meds will overshadow his legacy... Yeah, like being addicted to prescription meds is worse than being accused of pedophelia. Yeah, I dropped the extra 'a' from that one because it's too Latin/UK English for my tastes. That's what I don't tolerate; all these extra fvcking letters hanging out in words not doing anything.

Your question stimulated my curiosity since I did not know who exactly Bo Jangles was besides a name in a Bob Dylan song. He's the answer if anyone would like to know:

"Luther "Bill" Robinson was a real person. A well known and much-loved vaudvillian tap dancer, he played every where, knew everybody and was even considered the "official" mayor of Harlem. His gambling and traveling ways caused him to end up in jail a time or two. His funeral was attended by everybody from Ed Sullivan to Joe DiMaggio to Jackie Robinson."

Every singer and dancer is on the news talking about how prolific he was.
After the Jackson 5 and Thriller the guy didn't do anything but be a total freak.

Some talking head will have you believe that he changed race relations through music.
The Jackson 5 was part of the motown movement which he definitely didn't create single handedly.

The "King of Pop" was a name that he made up, it wasn't like the "King of Rock and Roll." Elvis didn't give the name to himself.
Elvis also created an entirely new genre, mixing Tennessee folk and gospel music.
MJ didn't do anything as ground breaking as that. Not by a long shot.

Michael Jackson 'Emaciated And Bald With Only Pills In His Stomach' – Leaked Autopsy Report

Michael Jackson 'emaciated and bald with only pills in his stomach' – leaked autopsy report

Michael Jackson was emaciated, virtually bald, covered in needle scars and had only pills in his stomach when he died, according to an autopsy report.

By John Bingham 29 Jun 2009

Michael Jackson's autopsy report disclosed that the star's distinctive shoulder length locks were a wig as he had lost virtually all of his hair

Photo: GETTY Jackson, who collapsed with a heart attack at the age of 50 on Thursday, was 5ft 10in tall but weighed only 8st 10z, according to The Sun.

His stomach contained the remains of partially dissolved tablets taken by the singer before an alleged final injection of painkillers, according to a coroner's report seen by the newspaper.

http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00834/jacko-280_834607j.jpg

It disclosed that the star's distinctive shoulder length locks were a wig as he had lost virtually all of his hair.

Meanwhile his body was covered in a mass of surgery scars from at least 13 cosmetic operations, the newspaper claimed.

Following disclosures about the singer's addiction to a cocktail of painkillers, the post mortem report was said to confirm that his legs and shoulders bore numerous needle marks.

The Sun also detailed evidence of the final efforts to save the singer's life after his collapse including broken ribs, believed to have been caused by frantic resuscitation, and the wounds from injections to restart his heart.

The leak came as Dr Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician and the last person to see him alive, was interviewed by police in Los Angeles.

I think it was Pete that compared him to Elvis, saying he didn't give anything other than Thriller. Well, Thriller pretty much gave you the music video industry. People liked it and they wanted more. next time you see the Pussycat Dolls half naked in a video, you can thank MJ for starting it all.

After he floated into freakdom, became a pedophile, nose fell off trying to be something he wasn't, and committed child abuse with his own alleged children (of which the jury is certainly still out on), I had zero use for him.

If my contempt for his actions and behavior offend people, well, tough patooties. I don't give a rip what 'civilians' think about it, either. Obama lauds Jackson’s ‘extraordinary gifts’
President says he has ‘all his stuff on my iPod’

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama called Michael Jackson a brilliant performer whose talents were paired with a tragic personal life.

"I'm glad to see that he is being remembered primarily for the great joy that he brought to a lot of people through his extraordinary gifts as an entertainer," Obama said in an AP interview Thursday.

Obama said he didn't see any controversy in the fact that he did not issue a formal public statement upon Jackson's death, and said he was unaware of any dissatisfaction in the black community with his response.

"I know a lot of people in the black community and I haven't heard that," Obama said.

The president said he grew up on Jackson's music and "I still have all his stuff on my iPod."

"I think that Michael Jackson will go down in history as one of our greatest entertainers," Obama said. "His brilliance as a performer also was paired with a tragic and in many ways, sad personal life."

Jackson died June 25 at age 50.

All of those comments were made in response to the offensive things HE WAS SAYING. Making racist, sexist, or bigoted remarks doesn't earn you any cool points, it just makes you look like a close-minded twat.

And no, responding to someone's stupid comments doesn't make one a bigot when they are CLEARLY WRONG. Like fvcking duh. Do you get it now?

What is racist or sexist about calling michael jackson a pedophile? He bought his way out of a conviction with money and star power. Good riddance. No amount of redeeming gifts can make up for molesting young boys. He could have cured cancer, brought peace to the planet and had an amazing musical career and he is still a pedophile that should have been in jail.

Add all his assets (real estate, weird rich people antique crap, cars, royalties from music, etc) to the 600 million dollars worth of Beetles music, and subtract his debt of 400 million and you're left with a couple of kids that are going to have over 300 million bucks left over for them to play with. Nice pay day.

(that's if they ever get rid of the Beetles songs)

Therein lies the problem. The catalog MAY be worth 600 million but only if they sell it. And someone is willing to pay the price. If they are forced to liquidate his assets, they might end up with some money. Odd they are so desperate to get his wealth. Aren't they all in show business making a lot of money?

Sharpton Calls for Jackson Postage Stamp and Day of Mourning

KTLA News

http://www.ktla.com/media/photo/2009-07/47883341.jpg Sharpton speaks at a press conference outside the Jackson home in Encino (Getty Images / June 29, 2009)

LOS ANGELES-- Reverend Al Sharpton is using his Sunday appearance at The First A.M.E. Church in South Los Angeles to call for a U.S. Postage stamp honoring Michael Jackson, as well as national day of mourning.

Sharpton faces a steep challenge in getting the stamp approved, as commemorative stamps cannot even be considered until 5 years after the subject's death, according to the U.S. Postal Service.

The only exception to the rule is for deceased U.S. Presidents, who have traditionally been honored with a stamp released on their birthdays, following date of death.

Releasing a commemorative stamp could be a financial boon for the Postal Service as Michael Jackson memorabilia has reportedly been selling in high volumes and in some cases for significantly higher prices after the music icon's passing.

The 1993 commemorative stamp for Elvis Presley became the best-selling U.S. stamp to date with 124.1 million stamps sold, according to figures released by the USPS. Many of the units sold were reportedly kept as souvenirs, rather than used as postage.

Sharpton has been working closely with Joe Jackson and the Jackson family to help plan memorial services and handle other issues left after the unexpected death of Michael Jackson.

During Sunday's sermon he called for nationwide "love vigils" for Michael Jackson on Tuesday, the same day a public memorial will be held at Staples Center.

He urged people to gather in schools, community centers and churches to honor Jackson.

Family Sees Image Of Michael Jackson In Tree Stump

A Stockton family says the image of Michael Jackson appeared on his tree stump the day the King of Pop died.

Like the "Virgin Grilled Mary" or "Cheesus," the family thinks they've got an unusual spiritual image staring right at them from their own front yard. Felix Garcia has lived in the house for 22 years, and has never noticed the apparent image in his birch tree stump.

"I was standing by that bush, and I looked up and saw that image here," Felix said.

Many people in the crowd who gathered to look at the stump Sunday afternoon saw the resemblance, but why would Michael Jackson appear instead of a religious figure -- or even any of the other celebrities who recently passed away?

"Because Michael Jackson was an icon to us," said one neighbor. "To Stockton, Michael Jackson meant more to us than Jesus, to some people. I think they're both about even."

Jackson did visit the city 20 years ago, following the Cleveland School fatal shootings.

From afar, it looks like any other tree. From up close, it looks like any other stump. Not all neighbors are convinced -- some say it looks more like the Scarecrow, and some say it looks like Jesus.

The family says they don't expect their tree to become a shrine to Jackson, but they do hope that nobody tries to cut it down.
There must be something to this,Why just this morning when I took a crap I looked down and there it was an exact image of the King of (crap) I mean pop.

This was posted on a Marine veteran bulletin board. It is a good (but scary) read.

What's Important is What's Wrong

There are seminal moments in every person's life. These moments vary greatly - perhaps a moment of grandeur,
extreme joy, or maybe an epiphany; something big that you will never forget. Think about this for a minute.
Maybe you are going back to your first kiss or the day your dog died. Maybe you are thinking about the day you
graduated high school or got married. Or maybe you are remembering the day you figured out that Santa Clause
wasn't real or that the Cookie Monster wasn't really eating those cookies. I had a big one in February, 2007.
It coincided with the death of Anna Nicole Smith. I know what you are thinking: why in the hell was that a seminal
moment in your life? Well just hear me out.

Being a fan of history I've read a little about Rome and the fall of their empire. It doesn't matter if you are talking
about the late 400's when Romulus was deposed or if you consider the true fall of Rome the late 1,400's when
Constantinople fell. I think most would say that the Empire of Rome as we know it ended with Romulus' reign.
The point is that this once incredible society came unglued at the seams and toppled. Historians still debate
why this happened. Some say that it was because population decreased in key parts of the Western Empire;
historians assert that the fortifications designed to protect the people from barbarians and other enemies had
become too centralized. It is theorized that this caused population to thin in the periphery and eventually become
non-existent. This combined with rampant expansionism, inflation, and spending created an unrecoverable spiral to
ruin. As I digress, realize that this isn't what's important; this is but a symptom of the disease e. The true decline
started when the Caesars transformed Rome from a republic to a monarchy. Although Rome reached its greatest
power during this time, the seeds of destruction were sewn. What followed was years of poor leadership, power
struggles, bureaucracy, and hedonism; over time these problems took their toll and slowly but surely, the wheels
came off. And I wonder what it must have been like to be a centurion, fighting on the edge of the empire to further
the cause of Rome. To be deployed away from family for years and years and hearing the news of the chaos and
cacophony of what Rome had become while watching their brothers die at their sides. To look back over their
shoulders and realize that they no longer had anything in common with those they fought for and protected.
In February of 2007 I actually began to empathize and understand how they must have felt.

The issues we deal with in America today are in many ways similar and in many ways different from the problems
which befell Rome. I am not trying to compare the issues which led to the demise of Rome with our current problems.
Nor am I comparing the Roman centurion's mission to ours in Iraq and Afghanistan; these are equally interesting
(and perhaps troubling) topics of which volumes could be written. One of the biggest problems facing our country
today is what is important to us. Think about this concept for a minute. When I refer to "us" I'm referring to the middle
of the "bell curve" of America. For arguments sake, let's call them the middle 60% of America - the 180 to 200
million-or-so people which are your "average Joes," the meaty center of middle America. Think about what is important
to them, or should we say us? Listen to the buzz. Watch the news. What do you see? You will see that we are a nation obsessed
with the media and all things celebrity. People, In Touch, Entertainment Weekly, and periodicals of sorts account
for a huge percentage of magazine sales. This doesn't count all of the online websites and blogs dedicated to tracking,
stalking, and updating every inane detail of celebrities' lives. Even reputable news sources such as CNN, FOX news,
and MSNBC run celebrity news as their lead stories if the content is juicy or salacious enough. All of this "news"
is detritus and leads to the deification of celebrities; they are the golden calves of the 21st century.

Which brings us to February, 2007. There was a lot going on at the time. Things were going pretty rough in Iraq as
there were nearly 300 US deaths in the previous three months. But what transfixed our nation for more than a
month following February 8, 2007 was non-stop, 24/7 media coverage on Anna Nicole Smith's death. Anna Nicole Smith.
Her death eclipsed everything and was the number one story on every news channel. Anna Nicole Smith - an empty
vessel of a human being who was much lauded for her beauty. In many ways she symbolizes all that is wrong with
what our society considers great. Someone who was born with a pretty face, worked her way up the ladder as a stripper,
had someone buy her a great set of boobs, and became a fashion icon. She marries a 90-something year old oil tycoon
and wiggles her way into his will. She spends the next ten years of her life in and out of the news as train-wreck tabloid
fodder, literally embarrassing herself every time she opens her mouth. And then she dies. Our fast-food nation weeps
for the loss of this great American icon.

At the time I had lost five friends between Iraq and Afghanistan. Men who were a thousand times the human
being that Smith could ever hope to be. Men who had multiple combat deployments and families back home.
Men who were quiet professionals who never sought attention or asked for acknowledgement. The fact that they were
men is peripheral and coincidental; they were truly good human beings. Be sure, they were mourned and they were
honored, but for the most part the nation took little notice. They were numbers added to a list, a quick blurb on
the news updating the body count. Perhaps they weren't really noticed because they never graced the pages of
some ridiculous celebrity magazine; they never made an internet sex tape or got sent to jail for being coked up
and wrapping their Ferrari around a tree. I can't explain why, but the more I was bombarded by the coverage
of Smith, the more I thought about them- the five lost friends. It got to the point where I couldn't stand seeing her
image. She hadn't wronged me; I wasn't upset with her. She did nothing but live a silly, cartoonish life in front of a
nation of admirers. What bothered me was what was important to our nation. I had a sobering moment of catharsis
as people held vigils and crowds gathered in her honor; thousands, if not millions wept for her. This vacuous
human being who had contributed so little to society was canonized in her death. And I became the centurion
looking back over his shoulder, wondering how much I had in common with the fast-food nation we'd become.

And now we revisit the mourning of another demigod celebrity. Thousands gather to mourn our beloved King
of Pop. Truly he did give some art to humanity; in his day he was an amazing performer and musician. But it is his
level of importance to us as a nation which is as compelling as it is frightening. We lag most of the industrialized
world in virtually every category of education. Whether we are talking about general sciences, physics, chemistry,
or mathematics we are falling further and further behind. Children are being raised by MTV and Xbox and later head
to school with rifles. We embrace professional athletes and beautiful actors as national icons; we pay little attention to
our true national treasures: teachers, firemen, police officers, artisans, plumbers, carpenters, car mechanics,
factory workers, and nurses. I won't list for you all the calamities and problems we have; you can't miss them if you
own a television set or have internet access. But if you take a hard look at what is important to us while realizing
how little attention we pay to education, our true national treasures, and the real issues of our time, tell me,
where does that lead us?

I am not a "doom and gloom" type of guy; I am not trying to be a prophet of the apocalypse, I am merely voicing
concern. I am trying to inject a dose of reality and perspective into what has become another three-ring media
circus surrounding the death of another golden calf. I remain an optimist despite my grim observations. I likely
sound pious and I feel the urge to step off of the soap box, but I felt compelled to share my thoughts and observations.
I'm no one special to be sure. I'm just a regular guy who paused for a moment and said, "Really. this is where we
are and this is where we are going?" As I close and bid farewell to yet another beloved court jester who has passed on,
defying all odds my eyes remain dry; and I leave you with this thought: What is important to you?"

Honor the Jackson 5
Military Heroes who Gave Their Life For You

Army Spec. Marlon P. Jackson was the first American soldier named Jackson to be killed in Iraq. CNN did not cover his death. No teary fans delivered flowers to his home in New Jersey. No celebrities were on hand for his family. He died an American hero serving his country.

Please take a moment to remember our Jackson 5 - the first five American heroes named Jackson who gave their life so we can be free and safe in America.

Send our troops a care package to honor them.

They will NEVER get the media coverage they deserve or anything equal to the praise and coverage lavished on the Jackson 5 musical family. This week at the passing of Michael Jackson the world weeps at the death of a recording artist and entertainer who made hundreds of millions of dollars from his music.

While most Americans are thinking about Michael Jackson, we hope you will join us and think about the Jacksons described below. You can make sure our troops are not forgotten by supporting them and their missions. There are troops right now on the front lines fighting to keep America safe, and you can send them a care package with coffee, cookies, beef jerky, Gatorade and more to show your appreciation and remind them that we respect and appreciate their service. Click Here.

Please remember these young men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for America.

25, of Jersey City, NJ; assigned to A Company, 94th Engineer Battalion (Combat) (Heavy), 130th Engineer Brigade, Vilseck, Germany; died Nov. 11 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device exploded on a road in Tampa, Iraq.

These were all brave soldiers who risked their lives, put everything on the line, to protect their friends and family and their country, which they loved so much that they sacrificed their own lives to protect it.

With all the media hype surrounding the celebrities and the cult of personality built up around high-profile entertainers, it is predictable that you may not have heard of THIS Jackson five, and no matter where you look on TV they will still be covering Michael Jackson's elaborate funeral.

But that doesn't give us an excuse to forget about our troops and the sacrifices they have made. Honor their teammates still on the front lines fighting against the terrorists, preserving our freedom and security back home.
