So I was on the phone with him the other day and he started *****ing about how we've been in service the same amount of time and I've always been promoted faster than him (he was E-3 out of basic training)... and he mentioned how he missed promotion by like 23 points for his MOS (that's 23 points on the test... as in written test)
well he bashes the way we get promoted and how easy it is... so I countered him by asking if he knew what all is considered when we are competing against our peers.
I started with something easy, I asked him if he can even finish a Marine Corps PFT... his answer was this "..... Nooo, I couldn't... I don't have time to PT... I have to wake up at 0400 every morning to get to work by 0500 in order to check out the tool truck to make it to the silos on time...."
So I asked him why he doesn't wake up earlier.... " cause my time would start when I PT." as a side note, he works on ICBM as a mechanic so he has lots of restrictions... but that doesn't matter.
so I told him to PT after he works if he still has time to do it....
well I gave him every opportunity to say "yeah, I do that.." but he didn't... not even once.
He gave up saying it's easy to get promoted in the Marine Corps after I brought up PFT standards...
now you have a better idea why it's called the ChairForce...
