Donation jar for troops stolen from Neb. store

LINCOLN, Neb. — Lincoln police say they’re looking for the man who stole a donation jar off a counter at a convenience store.
Police spokeswoman Katie Flood says the thief grabbed the jar at Roc’s Stop and Shop on Monday night and ran out of the store.
The store’s night clerk estimated there was about $100 in the big plastic jar.
Flood says the label on the jar said “Donations to U.S. Troops” and that the money was being collected to prepare and send packages of goodies to U.S. service members.
