Dear Marines,
Thank you for letting me post my question on your forum.
I am a practicing attorney interested in becoming a Reserve JAG Marine Officer. Does anyone know whether, after OCS/TBS/NJS, my one weekend per month and two weeks per year training would involve any attorney work? Would there be any attorney work in between those trainings, or would the only attorney work come if and when my unit is deployed?
Also, in your experience, how often should I expert to mobilized or deployed (I'm sorry I don't know the terminology).
Thank you for your time.

So you want to be a JagOff huh. Talk to a Recruiter, I'm sure your good at reading fine print.

Contact an OSO (Officer Selection Officer)

I have an appointment to meet with an OSO tomorrow. However I'm interested in the non-recruiter's view. Aside from JAG specifically, do you have a sense for how often reservists are called up? Thank you again.

One weekend a month and two weeks a year. I can't remember the rate at which reserve units get called up but I believe it's something to the order of 6 months every two years during a time of war. But keep in mind that is more than like the case for an infantry or artillery unit. I have absolutely no idea about JAG.

Don't talk to a recruiter, talk to an OSO.
