Hey fellow poolee's, summer is just about here and a lot of us are getting ready to ship out to either MCRD PI or SD, so I thought it would be mildly entertaining to see how everyone has prepared by posting our latest IST scores. And please note, this isn't a competition, BE HONEST, Marines never lie, cheat, or steal, so you may as well get into the habit of living by those standards before hand.

1.5 Mile: 9:08
Pull-Ups: 30
Sit-Ups: 95
Ship Date: 22 June 09

gotta love the motivated pt studs. if those numbers are legit you should probably go for iron man in boot. lucky man, i can never break 20 on the pullups (highest is 19) and my 3-mile was 20 flat at the lowest. 100 crunches is a gimmie

Yup, numbers are all legit, ran 'em last Saturday, but I really am hoping to be able to run a 300 by my final PFT at boot, for some reason sit-ups have been my biggest problem though. But your PFT scores are still really good, it sounds like your sittin' right around the 275 mark or so, which is nothing to sneeze at. Looking forward to joining your ranks.

Last IST was a little worse than usual. Normal run time is somewhere around 10:15 or so, but I stayed with a friend to keep him going so that he wouldn't die, puke, stop running, so it was closer to 12:30 or so. I sacrificed it so he wouldn't run alone. Pullups were 13 or 14, crunches were in the 70's (bad day). Not the best, but there were people with worse.

Last IST was harder the normal. I believe it's because we had Drill Instructors making us do different excersizes and run through this obsticale course. But, besides that everything went fine.

IST:
20 PULL UPS
130 CRUNCHIES
10:44 1 1/2

My IST is in my profile. I can run a 1/2mile in less than 2:30 I am guessing 2:10-2:20 (I run the 4x800m relay in track) I am going to try and keep that pace and eventually make that my pace for the 3mile. :D

14 pullups
83 crunches
11:08 1.5 mile

I'm hoping to have the pullups and crunches maxed by the time i leave for boot camp in 2 months.

If you're halfway smart, don't get into trouble, don't have (or develop) a bad attitude, and can follow orders, you should do well in the Corps. I graduate my MOS school tomorrow, and my PFT score plus classroom performance put me in the top of the class, so I'm picking up meritorious Lance before I check into my first unit.

With that PFT, as long as you do well on the rifle range, you should pick up PFC out of boot, if you don't already have it by contract. I don't know about you, but extra money in my pocket is plenty of motivation to excel as much as possible.

My scores are in my signature. With crunches i would always go flat at 75-80 before my thighs would start burning, but ive found out by concentrating on your breathing i can pump out about 30 more. Im also hoping to get my 3 mile under 18 by the 2nd pft in boot camp.

My IST is also in the signature. I'm shooting for a 300 PFT so the only thing I need to buckle down is a 3 mile run.

Doin' fantastic, received the award for "highest overall initial strength test" at family night. Was pretty good, but I kinda feel bad for taking an award when so many others worked a lot harder for their scores... I was already in pretty good shape.

Just did a practice IST at my house and did 24 pullups, 95 crunches, and run of 10 mins flat... so next pool function should be good :D

Ran the officials today.
Pull up- 11
Crunches-125
1.5 Run- 10:57

Thanks ds11! Every other poolee with a better IST than me keeps me motivated so keep it up!

My first IST was:

P/U- 17
Crunches- 96
Run- 10:45

Needless to say I had already been training and doing some good crossfit exercizes prior to it. But I'm very happy with my improvements thus far. There's nothing but room to better yourself.

they only made us do 5 pull ups just so they could see we did the minimum, and theyd give us an extra one if they were easy. i got the 6 pull ups, 100 crunches exactly, and a 10:32 1.5 mile. not happy with the run time, ive done much better but its all good.
