Need Help!!!!!

My son is currently going through the enlistment process at los Angeles MEPS and was DQ'd for having hypothyroidism. According to medical standards this is NOT a disqualifying condition as his IS controlled by medication as required. BUMED came back a week ago and cleared him "good to go" then just today the recruiter calls and says he's been DQ'd once again!! They are saying that it's because he takes medication daily which is a problem. My question is; Are there any active duty Marines out there, or do you know of any who recently got through MEPS and boot camp with hypothyroidism while on medication?? Our recruiter is baffled as well as he remembers recently putting through a young man with a similar case. PLEASE, if anyone can help us with any advice I would be gretaly appreciative!!!
