Aaron Fogg made a commitment to serve his country when he decided to enlist in the Marines in 2004. In his nearly 5-year military career, Cpl. Fogg completed four deployments, including nearly two years in Guantanamo and seven months in security forces in Iraq.

On Saturday, he made a commitment of marriage to his Batavia High School friend -- and then sweetheart -- Susan Morrison.

"We have been friends for almost 13 years and started dating in my first year in the Marines. She has been (with me) through the entire time," Fogg said.

Fogg and his fiancé took the vows of marriage in a military wedding Saturday at Holy Cross Church in Batavia.

The bride and groom left the church under a traditional Marine Corps Arch of Sabers honor guard.

Fogg, 25, returned from Iraq in November. He is presently stationed at Camp Le Jeune, N.C., as an instructor teaching urban combat skills in the classroom and in the field to key Marine personnel.

Many of his Marine comrades attended the wedding, including his younger brother Brandon, the best man who recently returned from serving in Afghanistan. The brothers were deployed overseas at same time last March.

"We are very blessed to be able to see our sons in such a celebration," their mom, Bonnie Fogg, said.

She said Brandon lost 30 comrades while in Afghanistan and his military vehicle was hit with an IED.

"It has been an emotional year. This is a happy time to see Aaron and Brandon join their friends (at the wedding)," she said. "The Marine Corps is like a great big family."

Aaron Fogg, a 2002 Batavia High School grad, said his unit was the perimeter security, guarding the fence line that separated Cuba from Guantanamo Bay's Naval Station, as well as the security inside the prison for detainees in Guantanamo.
