Four-star Memorial Day visit

CAMP LEATHERNECK, Helmand Province, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan —Army Gen. David Petraeus, commander of U.S. Central Command, visited Camp Leatherneck on May 25 to meet some of the Marines tasked with conducting counterinsurgency operations and mentoring Afghan National Security Forces.
Brig. Gen. Larry Nicholson, commanding general of Marine Expeditionary Brigade-Afghanistan, and Sgt. Maj. Ernest Hoopii, the brigade's sergeant major, escorted Petraeus during his visit to the home of "Task Force Leatherneck".
It was just one of the memorial visits Petraeus made to the various U.S. service members deployed throughout the U.S. Central Command's area of responsibility.
