Lejeune hosting ‘Jane Wayne Day’

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. — Marine wives are getting a chance to fire a howitzer and do what their husbands do for a day.
On Thursday, Camp Lejeune’s 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, will host a “Jane Wayne Day.” A longtime tradition in the Marine Corps, the daylong event gives spouses a taste of a Marine’s daily life. Similar “Jane Wayne” days are held at Marine bases around the world.
Spouses will watch their husbands work Thursday on the 155mm howitzer and will pull the lanyard to fire the 100-pound shell down range.
