Is it possible to get my recuiter to put in my contract to get the MOS of 03xx? Any job in the infantry field is fine with me, I just want to know what the deal is with the contract situation.

And the best way to go about this with my recruiter. I've read in several places to get things like this in writing(contract) first.

How would i go about getting into this field? And whats the difference between an open/closed contract? and in your opinion what MOS is the most needed in the USMC?

yes you can get contract 0311 or contract 0321 or contract 03xx, whatever you want man make sure you DO NOT sign an open contract, if you recruiter tells you otherwise he is FULL OF **** find another one in a diffrent town/ district.

Mostly all of the open contracts in my bootcamp got Motor T. Sign up for the 0300 field, never go open unless you really just don't care about your MOS.

Ok. I want to be in occupational field of Infantry(03xx) any of the MOS's in that 03xx field would be fine with me. So before I take my ASVAB and go to MEPS I need to get my recruiter to put 03xx in my contract prior to heading to MEPS.? So don't go to MEPS with an open contract.?

Negative. You will be on an open contract when you go to MEPS to DEP in. Once that is settled, you will sit down with your recruiter and choose an MOS field. You will be open contract for a few days, maybe a week. Everyone is. You just don't want to ship out to boot camp on an open contract.
