I'm officially a Poolee in the Marines. I was sworn in last Friday. It was a really long day. My roommate and I woke up at 0350. We got some chow at 0415, and then waited until 0530 for the bus to get there and take us to MEPS. We went through security and then checked in and had our physical. The physical took all of 4 1/2 hrs. Then we got lunch at 1030. Sub's, chips, cookies, and soda. Lunch of champions.
After lunch we went and sat outside the Marine office for 3 hrs until our name was called by the GySgt, where he asked me questions about police involvement and drug use. Then he told me the job I would be doing and my ship date. Supply and Accounting and I leave 20091207. Not at all what I wanted to do when I first met with my recruiter but I'll be a Marine and that's all I really care about. Our swear in group was the largest they had ever done. 12 Marines and 1 Army guy. Total there were about 40 Marines sworn in that day.
