how long after School of Infantry, do you get assigned to a Unit and deployed? Im going as 03xx!

There is no real answer here. Each unit is different and their deployment orders come from HQMC. You may go to a unit and deploy immediately or you may go to a unit and not deploy for a while. There's no finding out until you get to where you're going.
I know boots who were leaving Iraq before us that were still PFC's. Real PFCs, not busted down PFCs. That means in 15 months TIS they were already done with their first deployment.
I also know 0311 corporals who've never deployed. (SECURITY FORCES) it depends on what happens and where you go like Cpl 0231 said.
