I'm planning on joining the Marine Reserves, either while in or after college. I'm want to goin as 0311 First, but I wanted to get some information about 3rd and 4th Force Reconnaissance Companies. I know 3rd Force recon have gotten deployed, what about 4th? Will training in marksmenship, swimming, scuba and long distacnce traveling, before enlisting, help very much? And basically how do I join 3rd or 4th Force Reconnaissance? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I did search, a lot about Force Recon, but nothing about 3rd and 4th Force Recon, which is what I want to more about. I've tried their have home page, but not much info there. I guess I really only had one question in mind. It's says candidates must have 20/20 vision, with minimal correction; does glasses constitute "minimal correction"?

If you actually do a search on Recon on THIS SITE, you're going to get hundreds of hits. Most of them would actually inform you that there is no more Force Recon.

The vision requirement is the least of your worries about getting into Recon. Do some more reading on this site and come back and ask an original question.

Also, do a search on "broomstick."

I wouldn't bring up Recon, If I had a better definition of "minimal correction".
