Eagle Scaleable Plate Carrier(TM) Lightens The Load For Marines

ST. LOUIS, March 25, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ ----In response to Marine Corps concerns over the weight and bulk of personal protection equipment, Eagle Industries has developed the Scaleable Plate Carrier(TM: 65.86, 0.2, 0.3%). The company began producing this critical troop support item in 2008 after extended development work with the Department of Defense (DoD).

Eagle's Scaleable Plate Carrier(TM: 65.86, 0.2, 0.3%)is a U.S. Marine Corps requirement that was developed in conjunction with Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM: undefined, undefined, undefined%) to increase the combat effectiveness of service members operating at high altitudes in Afghanistan and elsewhere by reducing weight and bulk. This tailored design is a highly adaptable system configured specifically to adjust to the changing mission profiles of Marines. It has five adjustment points to allow for a more exact and comfortable fit, essential when traversing steep mountains at high altitudes.

The issue of heavier, cumbersome equipment limiting warfighter mobility and impacting mission success has been the subject of recent federal congressional hearings and remains an issue of concern for the Department of Defense. Eagle's Scaleable Plate Carrier(TM: 65.86, 0.2, 0.3%)was engineered to directly address these concerns.

"The Eagle Scaleable Plate Carrier(TM: 65.86, 0.2, 0.3%)protects the lives of those who fight to protect us. A great amount of focus and resources were poured into developing a plate carrier system that could meet the unique tactical needs of our men and women operating in high altitudes, such as the mountains of Afghanistan. We are extremely proud of the final product and are honored to work with the Marine Corps to develop this critical technology," said Eagle Industries Vice President Scott Carver. "Eagle has a long history of success in providing mission-critical, soldier-tested and approved gear, developed and manufactured right here in the United States. Our U.S. service members deserve the very best and our U.S. workers continue to provide it."

Over the company's thirty years of operation, Eagle has designed, manufactured and delivered top-notch, 100 percent U.S.-made gear to every service branch within the DoD. Their prior success in plate carriers for the Marine Corps made the company a natural fit for developing this technology.
