Hello everyone.

My name is Jimmy, I´m 17 years old and lives in Sweden.
Since I was 14 years old I have wanted to become a Marine.
But there is one problem, I am from Sweden!
I talked to a friend, he said that the US Marine Corps dislikes people from other counies to join, is that true ?
I am really so worried about this beacuse there is nothing in the world I want more than becoming a Marine.

I wish you all a great day.
I will be thankfull for any answers.

Respectfully
Jimmy

Jimmy,
First, there are going to be a lot of people tell you that all the information you need is already on this site, all you have to do is use the search function to find it. Also, you were answered once already on this very question. But, since you are new and not from America (*meaning you may not know what is expected of a Marine Corps wanna be yet) I will go ahead and past what SIXGUNS told you in the other thread:

Jimmy,

You will not be eligible for service unless you become a U.S. citizen or possess the proper immigration documents. The form is a permanent resident alien card or a naturalization certificate. You cannot join on a work or student visa. The obvious reason for this rule has to do with security matters and others.

** Now, this isn't easy, but it can be done. I have had several Canadian friends in the Marine Corps, and a few others. If you really want it, you can make it happen.
