They mention awarding of the "Silver Star and Bronze Star" to someone.
Somewhere in my mind.
There a little voice saying "I won't give you any medals for doing your job." my Company Commander in Golf Co 2/1 in Vietnam.
I thought a couple "Purple Hearts and POW medals" would be enough for their being capture and some torture.
But like PFC Jessica Lynch US Army, this was just a media event.
IMHO
Where will all this insanity end?

The Army gives out awards like they're going out of style.

I work with/for a SEAL. Silver Star in 'Nam. I hate to see anything like this CHEAPEN his Star.

I hope they come up with something GOOD, and DESERVING, before awarding them.

I heard on the radio today that one of the POW'S was gonna get a bronze star. I'm not saying what they went through wasn't a troubling experince, but does that qualify for a medal? If it does, what about all of our POW'S who went through hell in our other wars who were held a lot longer. Maybe the ones who rescued them should really be up for an award. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't want to insult anyone in anyway.
