I want to thank everyone for your good wishes on my 66th birthday.

I have been preparing for this one for quite a while.

I had cards made up to hand out and a banner made for each side of my van. The banner read; "Girls, Get Your Kicks on Root 66."

The cards identified me as a charter member of the Virginity is Cureable Club and that I was registered at several local hospitals as a Certified Sperm Donor.

I was looking forward to a GREAT time on my birthday. However, my wife saw the banner and nudged me last night and again this morning.

Killjoy! Some people have NO consideration.
---------------------------------------------

YES, I'm a senior citizen.

I'm the life of the party...... even if it lasts until 8 p.m.

I'm very good at opening childproof caps... with a hammer.

I'm usually interested in going home before I get to where I am going.

I'm awake many hours before my body allows me to get up.

I'm smiling all the time because I can't hear a thing you're saying.

I'm very good at telling stories; over and over and over and over...

I'm aware that other people's grandchildren are not nearly as cute as mine.

I'm so cared for -- long term care, eye care, private care, dental care, etc.

I'm not really grouchy, I just don't like traffic, waiting, crowds, lawyers, loud music, unruly kids,Toyota commercials, Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, barking dogs, politicians and a few other things I can't seem to remember right now.

I'm sure everything I can't find is in a safe secure place, somewhere.

I'm wrinkled, saggy, lumpy, and that's just my left leg.

I'm having trouble remembering simple words like.......

I'm beginning to realizing that aging is not for wimps.

I'm sure they are making adults much younger these days, and when did they let kids become policemen?

I'm wondering, if you're only as old as you feel, how could I be alive at 150? And, how can my kids be older than I feel sometimes?

I'm a walking storeroom of facts..... I've just lost the key to the
storeroom door.

Yes, I'm a SENIOR CITIZEN and I think I am having the time of my life.

Now if I could only remember who sent this to me, I wouldn't send it back to them.

Have I already sent this to you???????

If so, I'll try not to do it again (for a while.)
----------------------------------------------------------

During my last physical I told the doctor how God was watching out for me. I explained that He was so protective and caring that when I woke up to pee in the middle of the night, He'd turn on the light for me until I was finished.

When the doctor told my wife about it, she said: "Dammit, he's peeing in the refrigerator again."
-------------------------------------

I had the local fire dept and a nurse with a respirator standing by, just in case, when I blew out the candles on the cake.

I also made a wish. And I'd appreciate it if you all helped me to make my wish come true.

I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss, but more than this
I wish you love

And in july a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade
I wish you health
But more than wealth
I wish you love

I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all when snowflakes fall
I wish you love.
-----------------------------------------------

And thank you all for your good wishes to me.

firstsgtmike,
Happy ,somewhat belated , birthday to you! I'm experiencing a birthday myself today but I don't have a banner as yet. "Get your kicks on Route 58" just doesn't cut it.
I thought that I would celebrate by going for an evening swim. I went to the deep end of the pool and jumped in. When I came to the surface my better half said, "Are you okay?" I said, "Why are you asking? All I did was jump into the pool." She said,"Jump? I thought you tripped and fell!" Crud, I knew that I was slowing down but I didn't know that it would affect my style.
Enjoy your Birthday! Have some Suntory or a San Miguel.

FirstSgtMike,
Sorry, I missed sending you a birthday note. I am suffering from oldtimers disease. Also called CRS syndrome. Your post is great. Anyway, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY.
