Marines say members of a Camp Lejeune regiment helped to stop a bomb plot in Afghanistan. They are part of the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment.
Marines say it happened when they were patrolling with teh Afghan National Policemen. Officers stopped a suspect in a central shopping area and learned there was an explosive device. Marine explosive technicians used a robot to remove the device.
