How's it going? I am on my second enlistment and decided to Lat move form 5942 to 0651. I was on MOL and noticed the my mos under rank/mos is 0600 because i have not gone to mos school yet. To make a long story short I discovered that is no cutting score history for 0600. SO for promotion do they promote you based on your prior mos or on your future mos?

You don't currently have a MOS perse, you are in a MOS group...when you finally graduate your actual school, your MOS will be entered into MCTFS to generate your composite score for promotion and lineal purposes.

So I cannot be promoted before I go to MOS school?

OK, I'm not nor ever was a 0100 Admin Type, but I think that you hold your original MOS until you complete your school and are awarded the new MOS for promotion purposes in your current MOS.

So, if that is true, in theory you could be promoted while attending school in your current MOS prior to obtaining your objective Latmove MOS.

Unless his current MOS is considered vacated the day he checks in to his new MOS's school...

Well after countless hours (1hr 30mins to be percise ), I have found the answer. according to MCO P1400.32D WCH1, chapter 2 page 15 paragraph 5, LCpls and Cpls in formal schools, training/ re-training assignments, or who have re-enlisted and had a Lat more approved in conjuction with their re-enlistment and are serving with a basic primary MOS are consider for promotion within their intended MOS.

Correct.... you will be promoted in your intended MOS. If you fail that school and were promoted in your new MOS, they will take it away.
