In just the last couple of months two Camp Lejeune marines threatened to kill President Barack Obama. Nine On Your Side’s Laura Vesco shares what Camp Lejeune officials have to say about these disturbing incidents.

Reporter: “Thousands of marines and sailors work aboard Camp Lejeune everyday but a couple of them are making headlines in a very negative way. In February, a grand jury indicted a Camp Lejeune marine for making threats against President Barack Obama. Just this week a Camp Lejeune marine threatened an entire plane full of people and also made threats of harming our President.“

While Camp Lejeune officials can’t comment specifically about each case, Major Nat Fahy with Base Public Affairs says, “At this time the incident is under investigation. NCIS special agents based at Camp Lejeune have been assisting state and federal authorities as necessary.“‘

The Secret Service and FBI are investigating Private First Class Nicholas Hanke after he told a plane full of people in Wilmington a bomb was on the plane and they were all going to die. Airport authorities say he also said he wanted to kill President Obama.

Former marine Kody Britingham faces five years in jail if convicted after authorities discovered he threatened Obama’s life before he took office.

Reporter: “While neither marine deployed they both face paying time for a very serious crime.”

Kody Britingham is no longer in the Marine Corps. No word from the Corps as to what actions Private First Class Nicholas Hanke faces from them once he is done with the court system.
