Brothers and Sisters, I am looking for info on my deceased uncle. He served in the Corps from 1951-1954. I am trying to find out the Platoon number that he took his training with. I have a copy of his Military Records, but, they do not include his platoon number. I do know that he was at MCRD Parris Island, SC and that he was in the 5th Recruit Training Battallion from 31Jan-10Apr 1951. His name is Cecil Douglas McCoy. He later served in Korean with the D Co 1st Eng Bn 1st MarDiv and then with 1/8 2nd MarDiv.
I have checked Yellow Footprints (which seems to be down right now) and couldn't find anything there..... So, if there any Korean War Brothers out there that went through MCRD PI at that time, I'd love to hear from you..... or another recommendations.
I also am a member of the TWS website and another Korean War Vet has been creating a profile page on my uncle and I'm trying to get him more info.
