Cherry Point Marines Banned from Local Restaurant

Marines from the east are being banned from one local restaurant, but you might be surprised who’s behind the decision.
The commanding officer at MCAS Cherry Point and the commanding general of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing are telling Marines from the base to stay away from Barney’s Sports Bar and Grill in Havelock while they evaluate whether it’s a safe place for Marines.
Several marines from Cherry Point and Camp Lejeune were reportedly in a fight with some civilians at the bar last week.
Club Insomnia in New Bern is the only other establishment in the area that is off limits.
