I'm scheduled to ship 20080508 and had a question regarding the cryptologic linguist MOS.
I currently am already dep'd in under an infantry contract but my recruiter asked me to investigate this MOS. I took the DLAB and passed it with a real score of 107 (100 required).
I'm curious if any Marines know what this MOS would actually entail me doing both deployed and not deployed. I know the job experience and training that I would get along with this job would beneficial to me but I am scared that this would end up being a desk job that I would despise. My recruiter said that while deployed I would work mainly as a translator in the field but had no idea about almost anything else that had to do with this MOS.
Thanks for the help in advance.
