A valentine surprise from Iraq
Gunnery Sergeant Scott McIntire, a U.S. Marine from Waynesboro stationed on the Syrian border of Iraq, sent five dozen Valentine's Day roses to Jan Musser of Chambersburg and her daughter, Ellie. Jan is a first grade teacher at Hooverville Elementary School, Waynesboro. McIntire, whose home base is Cherry Point, N.C., is on his second tour of duty in Iraq, stationed with Marines Wing Communications Squadron 28th Task Force. He and Musser were high school sweethearts. Jan said, "When I called him, he said, 'I don't think that's all of them. There should be some more coming. He said there were to be six dozen in all. He was my very first boyfriend," she said. "And now we've reconnected, through our lives."
