I was just wondering what the highest rank you can get out of boot like with college credits, honor grad, etc... I have 47credits i believe. I also wanted to know how you get the rank if there are any other ways. Thanks.
p.s. I already search this but there is something wrong with my computer/the site and it never works.
Any awnsers are appreciated.

PFC is the higest rank you can get with your college credits. You can receive LCpl but you have to be the company honorman which means you have to be your platoons guide and compete against the other 5 platoons guides. The criteria consists of Marine Corps knowledge, pft, rifle score, drill, pro's and con's and several other factors. It is highly competitive and only the top Marine in the whole company receives this honor.

Also, you can only get LCpl if you come in as a PFC. If you're the company honorman and you come in as a private, you'll only receive PFC.

In each platoon there is one recruit who is in charge of squad leaders, who is called the guide.. The squad leaders are in charge of 4 squads which are made up of the rest of the platoon. <br />

yes, the Drill Instructor's pick them. But don't be surprised to see the guide be changed out 2-5 times during boot camp.

They usually pick the recruit with the best PFT to start with but they always switch the recruits around several times because nobody is going to be perfect in the drill instructors eyes. They will try new recruits out at the position but some just can't drill and you can't have a guide who can't drill so they will lose that spot.

It's a good goal to have but just focus on the task at hand and prepare yourself to get ready to go. You can worry about guide once you get to the island.

One thing you need to be is more resourceful. The answers to these questions are already out there.
