I'll start off by saying this.... no, not joining for Bonus. if that was the case I'd join a different branch lol.

with that said, I sign up for the DEP tomorrow (I should get to bed!) and I'm wondering out of curiosity...

How much Bonus $ did you Poolees get?

I've heard anything from $0 to $20,000 (yes, only 1 person though. I was shocked too).

My bonus came to a grand total of $0.00

I am perfectly content without a bonus though, the chance at earning the title of Marine is more then enough for me.

None at all. However, I've had friends who have enlisted for 5 years and they've received around 7,500 (Before taxes).

Hey Doc,,,, You're talkin Re-up money. Not bonus. Most all were offered re-up in those days. But money just to sign your name,,,,what a waist. My son in law {Army} Got a lot of green just to be a reserve,,,,,,, then went active and got more.

The trick is you enlist for nothing, then re enlist in a combat zone for $35,000 tax free.

Shipping bonus? I'm assuming that is for shipping early if they need you to? I want to ship early and can't have to wait to April. I wish I could pay them to send me now, who cares about the bonus like the other guys said, just having the title.

I have been told by just about everyone Ive talked to about joining exactly that, 0-20k sign up bonus. I was also told from another Poolee that if you score high enough on the ASVAB that you get a extra bonus. A couple other guys agreed (this conversation was being held just before taking the ASVAB). Anyways... I havent even brought up the sign up bonus or anything to my recruiter, cuz I really dont care about it... Like you said, Id be going into another branch if it was for the benifits. But as far as I know, Im getting zero... Guess I should bring it up to the recruit anyways, just to find out.
