CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa (January 30, 2009) -- Status of Forces Agreement personnel on Okinawa interested in purchasing a motorcycle can get hands-on experience with new 250cc Hyosung Comet motorcycles purchased for Marine Corps Bases Camp Smedley D. Butler's Motorcycle Training Center located on Kadena Air Base.

Thirteen motorcycles arrived at the training center Jan. 19 for students interested in taking the Basic Rider's Course.

"This is a great opportunity for those who want to buy a bike," said Paul Green, a representative for Cape Fox Professional Services and instructor at the center.

"They can participate in training, and later decide if they want to purchase a bike," he added.

Course participants are required to bring the minimum personal protective gear: approved helmet, eye-protection, full fingered gloves, safety vest and over-the-ankle boots.

"We are real excited to have these bikes for the students," Green said. "We want to make this a world class training facility."

Riders taking or planning to participate in other courses offered at the center, including the Experienced Rider's Course or the Military Sport Bike Course, must still bring their own bikes.

For more information about the courses offered at the training center contact the MCB Camp Butler motorcycle training section at 634-2450 or the MCB safety office at 645-3806.
